Tides of Qi — Privacy Policy

Tides of Qi is operated by Vid Skvarca, Ljubljana, Slovenia, EU. For the purposes of data protection law, Vid Skvarca is the data controller.
This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, where it goes, and your rights.
What we collect
Information you provide
- Name and gender — used to personalize your readings
- Birth date and time — used to generate your personal energy chart
- Birth city — used to calculate the correct time zone for your chart
- Circle people — names, birth dates, and relationship labels of people you add
- Evening check-ins — daily harmony scores
Information collected automatically
- Apple Sign In identity — your Apple user ID (we never see your Apple password)
- Email address — only if you choose to share it via Apple Sign In
- Push notification token — for sending notifications
- Timezone — for scheduling notifications at your preferred local time
- Subscription status — managed by Apple (we never see payment details)
- Analytics events — general app usage patterns (no personal content)
- Error reports — technical crash data (no personal content)
Information we do NOT collect
- Payment details (Apple handles all transactions)
- Contacts, photos, or other device data
- Continuous location tracking (birth location is entered once, not tracked)
- Health data from HealthKit or similar
- Advertising identifiers
How we use your data

AI-generated readings
Your personalized readings are generated using a third-party AI service. Your chart is calculated entirely on your device. To generate a reading, we send your first name, gender, and attributes derived from your chart (such as your energy type and today's conditions) to this service. We do not send your birth date, birth time, location, email, or Apple ID to the AI service.
The AI service may be located within or outside the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, this transfer is necessary to perform the core service you use the App for (GDPR Article 49(1)(b) — performance of contract).
AI responses are cached temporarily to avoid unnecessary re-generation.
Third-party services
We use the following categories of service providers to operate the App:

Data retention
- Profile and readings: kept while your account exists. Deleted permanently upon account deletion.
- Usage logs: retained for a limited period, then automatically deleted.
- Analytics and error reports: retained per our service providers' standard policies.
- Cached AI responses: expire automatically after a short period.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen. Deletion is immediate and permanent:
- Removes your profile, readings, and usage data from our servers
- Anonymizes usage logs by removing your user identity
- Clears all local data on your device
To also revoke Sign in with Apple, go to iOS Settings, tap your name, tap Sign in with Apple, then Tides of Qi, then Stop Using Apple ID.
Your rights
Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR for EEA residents), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (via in-app account deletion)
- Restrict or object to processing (contact us)
- Data portability (contact us for an export)
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority

California residents
We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising. As a native mobile application, we do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
Children
Tides of Qi is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data in transit is encrypted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date will change. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
